Adoption Process:
Interested in adopting a BDRA Dog? Simply fill out our application. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm and flea/tick preventive.
We ask a $200 adoption fee. This does not begin to cover the vetwork we do on our dogs, which is why we are always fundraising!
Please email info@blinddogrescue.com with any questions.

Adam
Blind Dog Rescue Alliance is thrilled to introduce our first foster dog, Adam, formerly Tex, of Georgia. He was in a shelter and out of time before one of our volunteers, Cheri, offered to foster him. Vice President Colleen immediately jumped in and arranged vetting, and transport from GA to his foster home in Wisconsin. Tex arrived safely, and received a new name, Adam. He is 1-3 years old, and couldn't be sweeter. He is blind in one eye. He loves people, loves to play with other dogs (he traveled most of the way with another dog, Red), and would love a forever home. We are still getting to know Adam, so please check back soon. If you have any questions about Adam, please email us at info@blinddogrescue.com.
An update from Adam's foster mom:
Hi everyone.  I am Adam's foster mom.

Sweet Sweet Adam, and he is just so very sweet, was not
feeling very well at all when he arrived. Still wanting to please and be close, but he had a
bad upper respiratory virus, very bad ear infection in both ears, and lastly
he was positive for Coccidia, whipworms and something called Lung Fluke,
which is parasites in his lungs ,so when he coughs they go into his system
and can be seen in a fecal. That one is not seen around here so much.

It will be two weeks this Sunday and he will finally be off some of his
medication, but not the panacur for the parasites. That will continue a few
more weeks.

In the vet visit we had Tuesday of this week, his ears look better, he is
not coughing, no discharge coming out of his nose and he got some eye drops
for that eye that was diagnosed with glaucoma.  His  left eye seems very good.
He will see the vet again in a week to evaluate the how he is doing on the
drops.

Poor sweet boy has had to stay in my garage (with two soft beds) and a door
left open that he can go out to a fenced area to potty. That door is closed
at night but we have a night light in there for him.
He has not messed once in the garage.  Not Once, bless his heart.  He has
not made a whimper. Adam has acted grateful for every single thing he has been given, and half the time it's medicine, down his throat, in his ears and now in his eye.

There have been some nice things too though, good food, fresh water, hugs, treats, chews and a couple brand new stuffed toys that he takes with himoutside and back to bed.  He doesn't chew them he just seems to know the aregifts for him.  Probably never had any before.

He doesn't bark, he has had a few short walks, he prances like a little
prince so proud to be walking with me though the first walk he was afraid to
leave his new home.

I just wanted everyone to know what a wonderful sweet special boy we have
saved.
I know Adam knows he is being cared for and loved.  He is a love.

Look how happy Adam is to be in his foster home!

Buddy is a 9 year old poodle. His foster home reports:
This little guy will make someone very happy. He is not stressed in the least. He maps out his new home and sticks to me like velcro. Hes very content with lying by my feet.  I introduced him to my pack and he got along fine. He is up to date on everything and is neutered.
