Let me tell you about Minnie. She is a 6 yo Red/fawn Peke with one eye - she suffers from dry eye and by the time she came into rescue they had to remove one of her eyes. She has limited sight in the remaining eye - the ARL vet suspects only shadows/light differences - that being said - she gets along quite well. She came to me with aggression issues - dominance, not fear. She was quite reactive but has come a long way. She still needs an experienced owner to manage her behavior but that is pretty easily done as long as she respects your authority. Once you are her firend, you are her friend for life. I have used only positive methods ion training her.

Although she can still be territorial and a resource guarder (if you gain her trust you can take anything from her), she is actually a great house companion. She is smart, responsive and amusing. She is housebroken. She is affectionate but independent. She loves going for walks and is an excellent traveling companion in the car. She definitely deserves a forever home with an experienced owner.
